Professor Brian Brivati is a specialist in designing and delivering leadership and personal development programmes for states in transition. Since 2008, with the John Smith Memorial Strust (JSMT) Professor Brivati has delivered three country programmes in the former Soviet Union (FSU), ten in-country workshop programmes and created new fellowship programmes for the MENA region. He is currently working on independent projects in Zimbabwe, Iraq (in addition to JSMT Fellowship), Iraqi Kurdistan, Lebanon, and South Sudan. Professor Brivati is a consultant to a large number of organisations across FSU on issues around leadership development, mission definition, project planning and donor mapping. Previously, Professor Brivati was a Professor of Contemporary History at Kingston University, where he created the BA and MA programmes in Human Rights and Genocide Studies.
