In many countries where institutions are underdeveloped and governmental and civil society capacity is lacking, natural resources play an outsized role in the economy. Natural resource extraction, particularly that of oil and gas, can be both a great benefit, and a significant challenge. We help extractive industries, communities and institutions work together.
In each of our four key service areas, we seek to enhance connectivity, improve information and information flows, and above all help extractive industries contribute to the improvement of the societies in which they operate.
Our research and analysis team provide a range of services, from population surveys to risk assessments.
Our training and capacity building team works with staff and communities to improve their understanding and enhance their engagement with extractive industry presences and practices.
Our stakeholder engagement team connects extractive companies with the communities and individuals affected by the industry’s presence.
Our programme design and evaluation team designs systems and implements measures to understand the outcomes and impacts of industry efforts to engage with partners in government, industry, and civil society.
Our consultants have undertaken a variety of roles for extractive industry clients, including research into the oil sector in South Sudan, and the first ever study of its kind of natural gas markets in the Levant region.
