In fragile and post conflict environments, where state institutions are weak, civil society often holds the fabric of communities together, providing vital social, educational and recreational support services. Strong and vibrant civil society organisations (CSOs) or non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are vital for the healthy development of countries and are key in providing ordinary people with the power and voice to affect change at all levels of society.
We work with donors and the civil society sector to support CSOs through our four core services.
Our research and analysis team provides mapping of civil society activity and can conduct needs assessments in local and national contexts.
Our training and capacity building team offers NGO capacity assessments and provides training to help strengthen individual organisations and sectors.
Our stakeholder engagement team helps convene understanding between the needs and expectations of CSOs and external organisations and communities and supports the development of partnerships between civil society and government, businesses and other CSOs to better inform policies and effective delivery of programmes.
Our programme design and evaluation team works with CSOs to help them understand the impact and sustainability of their work, improving the design of projects to ensure resources are effectively channelled and justifiable to donors.
Recent Projects

Our consultants have also recently worked with the UNDP to conduct a mapping of civil society activity in Syria, developing a census in Arabic and conducting interviews with CSOs to understand capacity needs across the sector.
We are currently developing a project with local partners in Egypt to establish a member-based CSO platform providing knowledge generation, networking and capacity building services.
