Access to healthcare

Access to healthcare is a fundamental step towards ensuring survival and regaining basic human security for conflict or disaster struck populations. As a core Millennium Development Goal and human right, healthcare should be provided without discrimination and respect a range of rights, including the right to physical integrity, autonomy, confidentiality and informed consent.

Our research and analysis team provide assessments of specific health challenges in hard-to-access operating environments. Our needs assessments and community mapping identify existing gaps in health care coverage. Our perception surveys and behavioural studies aid the design of appropriate and effective health delivery systems.

Our training and capacity building team offer organisational capacity assessments and build bespoke training courses to help strengthen individuals and organisations in the health sector.

Our stakeholder engagement team work with healthcare service providers to acknowledge and engage with other stakeholders in the sector by establishing and promoting local and regional working groups. These processes foster the development of better coordination systems between private business, civil society, international organisations and government bodies enabling a more coherent and effective delivery of healthcare.

Our programme design and evaluation team assist healthcare organisations to increase the impact, effectiveness and sustainability of their programmes by designing tailored and targeted programmes for local communities, such as vaccination programmes or community based healthcare projects. Where programmes have already been designed and implemented, our field-based qualitative evaluations are vital to identifying utilisation patterns and the reasons behind poor service uptake.

Integrity has a strong team of skilled medical practitioners, health specialists and anthropologists with significant experience delivering health programmes in fragile states as both development workers and research experts. We have expertise in HIV/AIDS, primary and secondary health care, women’s health, TB, Kala azar, chronic disease, nutrition, WASH and a number of other critical health areas.

These skills sets enable Integrity to provide a uniquely refreshing and holistic viewpoint for organisations engaged in delivering health services in challenging environments.
